Corbin's First High School Touchdown and Homecoming Week

Well, some of the moms and I started off Homecoming by making banners and filling balloons. Below are some of the moms who helped out. We had fun, and it sure brightened up the place.

Then it was on to the Sophomore game. Clearfield vs. Syracuse. It was a game I was pretty nervous about. Many of the kids were talking trash. Clearfield and Syracuse are big rivals. But, Corbin did really well, and made his first TOUCHDOWN! And my card was full (of course) so I missed my big photo op. The Syracuse Sophomore team beat Clearfield, and we were stoked! The Sophomore Team is now 4-1. Below: Corbin looks back for a pass during the game.

It wasn't bad enough for Clearfield that they lost.....NO, Corbin had to steal a Clearfield Cheerleader to top it off. Poor, poor Falcons.
Photobucket
Then the next day was the Homecoming Parade. Below Corbin (in Yellow) rides along. Later that night we went to the Varsity game. It was so packed! I've never seen anything like it. The Titan's beat the Falcons and everyone was happy. Varsity is now 5-1.

On Homecoming night Corbin and his friends came to the house for a group party...none of them are old enough to date or drive, so they ate, played football, played Rockband, and went to the Haunted Corn Maze. We really enjoyed having them. They are all great kids.

Above: I think this will be a popular shot at their 20 year reunion. Below: the whole group.

Lunch With My Home Girls

High School Never Ends

L to R: Heather Jensen, Leslie Caudill, Me, Rachel Bates

There's nothing more fun than reminiscing with with your old friends, and catching up with there lives now. There was one more of us at lunch (Heather Buchanan,) but she left before we took the picture. These girls and I go way back; Well I still think of them as girls even though we are almost 40. :) Each one of them are amazing. I'm so glad I know them now. I loved each one of them (well, most of the time...it was high school) back then, but now I can really appreciate their differences, and the things that make them so unique. I just love who they are. We've made a plan to try and get together once a month, and we hope more of our old friends join us.

Football, Family, Friends, and Fall

Football : Well, Corbin didn't play Football this past week because of his concussion. The Sophomore team lost their first game to Weber High. So, they are 3-1 now. They really could have used him kicking. But, the Varsity team won the Weber High Warriors 30-0. They are now 4-1. Corb will be back playing this week. The Titan's will be playing Clearfield High for Home Coming. Challis graduated from Clearfield, and it's bound to be a wild game, running high with emotions on both sides. I'm a little nervous about the game, as many of the Clearfield players have vowed to "take Corbin out" during the game.....Let's hope it doesn't happen. I'm a little freaked out. Why do boys have to be so stupid?

Family: I watched my nieces, Kylee and Riley for a couple of days this week. Boy, babies are so much work. It about killed me. I'm glad I'm done with that part of my life. I'm way to old for that. We also got to go to Rick's cousin's (Amber) house for a family party. I wish I would have taken pics. I brought my camera and forgot to get it out. Anyhow, it was fun to catch up with everyone. We need to do it more often. Thanks Amber.

Friends: We went to dinner at our good friends the Saddlers this weekend. I had a great time taking pictures of their daughter Taylor. She was getting ready for her first school dance. She went with a boy from our neighborhood. Taylor is such a doll. I love that she wore Converse with a formal dress. She dances to her own beat and I love that about her.

We also played games...one of our favorite things to do. Thanks Saddlers! We love you and always enjoy your company.

Fall: Well, yesterday was the first day of Fall. Rick and I had a great run this weekend up at Kay's Trail. It was beautiful. I can't wait to get out take some pictures.

The Fall TV season also started...YEAH! We watched Dancing With The Stars. Can I just say....I have a huge, HUGE crush on Brooke Burke. She's beautiful!

Can I also say....someone give Susan Lucci and apple or something. She is WAY to thin. I also wondered how someone who rocks a bikini (Misty May-Treanor,) can make a ball gown look manly? I think Lance Bass will win, and I loved his partner, Lacey Schwimmer. She rocked the floor! Rick on the other hand was positively giggly to have Boston Legal back on. He loves that show. He laughs his butt off when he watches it.

What I have to say about Rick.

Rick is more than my husband, he's my best friend. The things I think people should know about him: He works harder than anyone I know. He never rests even at home. He does chores while he watches TV. He has more energy than anyone I know, but when he sits down...he falls asleep. He is willing to do anything around the house to help out, and I do mean anything...even the toilets. He's a clean freak. He likes everything in it's place. He is organized, even if no one else in our house is. He's incredibly intelligent. I think he could learn to do anything, and do it better than the person who taught him. I'm so glad he's here to help my kids with all the hard school stuff, but he's not very artistic. He's very healthy. He has great willpower when it comes to eating, and is very active...OK, he's a much better runner than I am...there I said it! He's very sensitive. He's a great dad. He feels deeply for our family, and is emotionally tied to each of us. He's a problem solver and a handyman, whether it's stuff around the house, relationships, or stuff at work, he'll find a way to fix things. He's short tempered, but that's gotten better over the years. He's not patient. If he wants it done...it should be done right away. He's fair. After things calm down, he's the first to apologize, and is very forgiving. He's quiet. He's not a man of many words. He is honorable. He conducts himself honorably at all times. His character is beyond reproach. But, most of all he loves me no matter what, and I love who he is. Happy Birthday Honey!

A BAD WEEK

Don't get me wrong, it started out good...

Everything was fine...A normal week. Thursday I went to lunch with some of my girlfriends, and then went to Corbin's Sophomore football game. Corbin was feeling better; It was a great game for him.
Photobucket
He cought balls....
Photobucket
He Kicked...
Photobucket
He even played defense...
Photobucket
And ran with the ball...
Photobucket
The Titan's won the Vikings 21-2 and now they are 3-0.
Photobucket
But.....the next day....things were not so good...
Below, Corbin had his "bell rung" after he took a hit to the side of his head. I got a call from the school on Friday. The VP said Corbin wasn't right, and it may be a good idea to have him checked out. Rick and I took him to the Dr. and he had a catscan. It seems to be a concussion, and he should be fine in a few days. The team medic took his helmet away, and he can't have it back until the Dr. clears him. Friday night the Varsity team had their first loss to Viewmont. Rick's car hit a dip in the Viewmont parking lot and broke a spring that cost us $700. But, there was more bad news.....

Challis wrecked his car....His fault. :(Photobucket
He had some friends in the car at the time and they are all fine, but the car isn't so good. Let's hope this bad streak is over....

Week in review

Fall is in the air

Corbin played football this week. Syracuse played Mountain View a team from Orem. The Titan Sophomore team won 56-6 and the Varsity team won 35-6. That makes the Titan's 3-0. Go Titans!

Below is a sequence of pics of Corbin #27 playing WR taking the ball down the field and then being taken down by a ton of Mountain View players. Corbin didn't kick this week. He has a pulled groin, so we hope he heals quickly.

It was a pretty quiet week around here. Chantel went off track from school, but she left to South Dakota with her friend and her family for the week. We've missed her and we've texted her often. She did send us a picture a Bison. We await her return today.

Rick was off this weekend and we spent time at he Gateway and saw the IMAX Space station movie at he the Clark Planetarium. I love the IMAX movies at the Planetarium. This one was 3D..Very cool if you like that kind of thing....like me. :)

I'm in a very good mood today as the NFL Football season starts. Go COLTS! The Jet's just made their first touchdown as I write. The start of the Football season signals Fall. I really love Fall...not just because of Football and the new TV season, but because it's a homey, cozie, season with beautiful colors and decadent smells. I love the crisp cool mornings when I run, and the harvesting of fields by farmers as I pass by. I love the howleing wind, and childrens rosy cheeks as they get in their last days of play before the biteing cold of winter comes. Winter....I don't like so much....
