A Really Bad Week This Spring

This spring we had really bad week as a family.

One night Corbin pulled a really late night (early morning) doing homework with his friend Lindsey Adams. I woke him up the next morning and he got in the shower. I went up stairs and heard this loud banging, so I ran down stairs. Corbin was having a seizure. Chantel called the ambulance while I tried to help him. He'd hit the water temp on his way down and was being water boarded with scalding hot water until I got to him. As a result he had his face burned.

Below you can see his face during a High School Soccer game. He got a concussion 2 days later at another game, and was out for much of the soccer season.

2 nights after Corbin’s seizure we got a call from Challis. Corbin handed us the phone and said, “This isn’t a good call.” Challis and his friends had been on a trip to Moab and didn’t make it. Challis was driving, overcorrected and rolled his car several times. Lucky for everyone there were no permanent injuries to him or the other 2 boys, but the car was a total loss.

Below is a picture of the car.

When I was talking to my friend, Stacy Strong, I said, “This has been one of the worst weeks of my life.” She said, “Really? Because I think someone’s really looking out for you. Both of your sons could have been dead this week. I think you’re pretty lucky.”

Just goes to show….It’s all how you look at it....
