Kortney! Will you go to PROM with Corbin? Pleeeeease!

Corbin asked his "special lady friend" Kortney to prom this week. Pretty much the theme was...I'm not stringing you along, and now that I've kissed the ground you walk on....will you go to Prom with me? He took Cole and Ashlee with him to trash her room. They strung yarn everywhere and threw candy kisses all over her floor.

She doesn't look too mad. She said she thought it was cute.

Then she had a LONG reply. A "trip around the world for an answer." We had a great time finding clues in "country's" all over Layton and Syracuse. This was the poster she left for him when he came home from school.

First Samoa. Samoa girl scout cookies (his fav) that is. Then a clue led us to...

Chili, from Wendy's that is. Then on to...

Jamaica, for a Jamba Juice. Then on to....

France, for french fries at Madox. Then to....

Mexico, Black beans at Bajio. Then....

Sweden, other wise known as Kathy's house for the "fish of the day". Then off to...

China, to have his fortune told at Dragon hill. The waiter told him his fortune was to have a cute girlfriend named Kortney. Then...

Back to America, other wise know as HOME for an all American apple pie. In it he found his answer......YES she'll go. YEA!

He's so excited she's going with him. All of us here at our house want to wish her super-duper luck at cheer tryouts at Clearfield High this week. We'll all be cheering her on. GO KORT! WE LOVE YOU!

Rick Can Kill The Hills!

I'm really amazed every time Rick runs the hills. There are some really, really steep ones in the race we ran this weekend, and Rick can run up them like they are flat ground. 10 long miles of hills is what the race was, and I'm not looking forward to doing it again ever! Rick had a killer time of 1:14:03 that's a 7:25 min mile pace. I dare ya to go run it on flat ground let alone ugly, steep, hills.
I ran a 1:27:27 which I'm really proud of. I finished with a better time than last year, and I really thought I couldn't improve on my time. I felt like crap for 2 days after, but I did it.

I know we have some family members running 1/2 marathons in the next couple weeks, and I'm really cheering for them. Good luck. There's nothing like accomplishing something you've worked so hard for, and running makes you feel so good about yourself. If you haven't run before or in a long time, I recommend getting off the couch and putting on a good pair of shoes.....After all Spring starts on Friday!

Last night we had our first Book Club meeting. These girls are really fun. I enjoy all of their opinions...even if we differ in opinion. Our first book was The Time Travelers Wife. It was read with mixed reviews. I'd give it a 4 out of 5. It lost points for excessive foul language, crudeness, and adult content (Others in the group would have deducted much more for these, as they were much more offended by it.). But over all I loved the whole idea of the book which was time travel. It made me think about what I would do if it really was possible. And I enjoyed the struggle of the main character to survive through his life that he has no control over, and how it effects the people he loves as well. Our next book is The Shack. I can't wait.

We'll Board!

This past Monday night Rick, Corbin ,Chantel, Kortney, and Kort's brother Seth enjoyed the new fallen powder up at Wolf Mt. night skiing. It was a first for Rick and Channy who strapped on boards instead of skis. Channy didn't last long before she was back on skis, but Rick enjoyed himself. The Powder was deep.

Kathy, Kort's mom, and I held down the table. I ate a lot of junk and enjoyed the conversation. It was great fun getting to know Kathy.

On our way up Ogden Canyon we did experience a little fender bender. A car couldn't stop and hit us from behind. But, no damage to us or our vehicle. We were just a little jittery after that.
