Movin' On Up!

UP THE HILLS! Strider's 10K

Rick and I ran the Strider's 10 K today. It turned out to be a beautiful day after about 2 weeks of snow. The snow made it really hard to train, but all in all we fared just fine. Well, as fine as we could, after the huge hills that is. The total elevation change is 1063 ft. Rick finished 5th in his age category, and Tiff finished 2nd.

Rick's time: 46:02
Tiff's time: 52:24

Lunch with old friends.

Remember The Old Days?

I'm always happy to see old friends that I haven't seen in years. Today I got together with a couple of friends from high school and had some lunch. It pretty much seemed like old times. We talked just like we did 20 something years ago, and caught up on the things we'd missed in each others lives. I guess the more things change the more they stay the same.

Valentines Day

Awww, love....

Well, Rick, and Challis worked on Valentines Day. I spent most of the day with Corbin's "special friend" Kortney and her mom, and Channy went to the skating rink (she got a flower from a boy *smile*). But the Corbin had a big day. He started out his day by kidnapping Kortney for breakfast. He bought her flowers, earrings and took her to IHOP....with a little help from me (the driver.)

Hope you don't mind I stole some of your pics Kort.

You're mom always came on your dates to take pics...right?!

As you can see Channy was my date and we came straight out of bed.

Then it was off to the Preference dance at the high school. Ashley Ashby asked Corbin to the dance. He had a wonderful time. She really put on a good date, and she's pretty darn cute too. :)

Ash blindfolded Corb and took him to her house for dinner. Ash and her parents put on a fun dinner where they had to order items without knowing what they really were. Corbin thought that was a blast!

Below: Corbin is eating his cheesecake with tongs. Her parents went to so much work, but Corbin really appreciated it.

Striders 5K

If you want to be a faster runner.....You should run faster! Some great advice I read. :)

Rick and I ran the first of our Strider's Winter Racing Circuit Races. It turned out to be a great day. It was supposed to rain and snow, but it ended up being beautiful....thank goodness. This race is a 5K that feels like a 10K. It's got a ton of hills and it killed my calves. My goal was to get a better time than I did last year, and I did improving by 12 seconds, and Rick's goal was pretty much.... just finish as fast as he can, and he did. He had a great time. He finished 8th in his age category and I finished 4th in mine. We have a lot of running to do to train for our next run...It's a hilly 10K. Yippie!

Happy Birthday Best Friend!

Gonna Love the 40's! :)

If you don't know my best friend, her name is Brenda Bentley Saddler, and she's been my friend since I was 3 years old. She is more like a sister to me, and I love her to death. She is beautiful, smart, and now.....she's 40.

I remember the first time I ever saw her. It may be my earliest memory. She was on her front lawn and I was standing across the street on my front porch watching her play. I longed to play with her and I still always want to play with her. She's a great time when I need one and a rock when I need one. I'm eternally grateful for her friendship.

So, I threw her a surprise party. We had a little lunch with some of her closest friends. It was so fun. I truly hope her 40's are the best years ever. She deserves it.

Family, Food, and FOOTBALL!

Superbowl XLlll (43) Arizona Cardinal's Vs. Pittsburgh Steeler's

We had so much fun at our family Superbowl Party. Thanks so much to everyone who showed up to eat, cheer, and gab. Rick's parents were in town, and I know they really appreciated seeing everyone.

Rick really has some fun cousins. I wish we lived closer, so we'd get to see them more often.....Well, we live pretty close to Oren and we hardly ever get to see him, so maybe it wouldn't make any difference.....Who knows.

Jay and Tora Showed up also. We ALL love them. My mom and Steve were there. We are always happy to see them. Steve is a old Steeler's fan, so I think he had a good time. The game was so much more fun with everyone pulling for their team.....Mostly the Cardinals. Both teams put on a great show. But the best part was delicious food everyone brought!

Vickie (my mom) and Wendy (Rick's mom) Wear their team's colors.

I cheered for the Steeler's also....Go Team!

Corbin and Rick Cheered for that OTHER team.

Mylee, Channy, Alyssa, and Hayliann were not really into the football, but they did engage in some good Nintendo DS games.

Matt, Hayliann, and Tom, all Cardinal's fans....

Dick (Rick's dad), and Uncle Jay (Dick's brother) But, really what I wanted you to see were they yummy rolls Brooke brought. If I knew how to make them....I'd weigh 500lbs.

Aunt Tora, Brooke, Ryder, and Wendy all just gabbin'.

Most of the group. Somehow Amber, Misty, Amy, Oren, and most of the kids escaped from having their picture taken.

In the end the Steeler's took the game 27 - 23
Thanks again everyone! We're so glad you came.

There she is Miss America!

Kortney and Aubree are cheerleaders, so when they found out that Miss America was going to be on, they marked it on their calendars as Must See TV! I was just curious how they got Corbin and Cole to watch.....Then I found out Kort and Aubree bought lots of candy and promised Corb and Cole they'd see "hot chicks in bikinis"...........Corbin thought they'd need a Big Screen for this television event. Corbin and Cole liked it so much.......They danced!
In the End Mrs North Carolina took the crown....She looks pretty emotional....So I guess they all had a good time. :)
