Tiffany's on the move

Rick's broken foot has slowed him down, but I've managed to stay on the move all summer.  I really have missed Rick's company, and I would have hiked more if he would have been able to, but I've got great friends that keep me moving and motivated, so here's what I did this summer.

Ogden 1/2 Marathon
I just jumped into this race at the last second.  Rick hadn't sold his spot, and he had gone to Germany, so I figured, what the heck, I'll run the 1/2 with my friends.  They all kicked my butt because I hadn't trained, but I had a good time.  I finished 1:52.  Not too bad.  I was happy with the time and it's a really well run, beautiful race.  I love it every year.

Little Red Riding Hood 80 mile bike race
This was my first "bike race".  It is all women racing.  It's so well put on it's not even funny.  It's a huge eating fest.  I swear to you I ate way more calories than I burned off, but boy did I have a good time.  We stayed a Rachel's house up in Hyrum the night before, then laughed and sweated, and biked the next day.  I would do it again for sure.
to R Trisha, Rachel, Jen, Me, Angela, and Stephanie
Trish, Angela, and Rach checking to see where our next feeding will be....not far is the answer. lol
I can't wait for next year.

Ragnar
Yet another One Night Stand.  That's right, I ran with my team from the past two years.  This is our last year and I'm really sad about it.  I hope I find another team to run with next year.  This was the first year I ran Ragnar without Rick, and "some people" thought I might be high maintenance without him to take care of me, but I was totally fine.  I had a blast.  This year we did an ALL GIRLS car and an all guys car.  I love all the girls I ran with, so I had a total blast!
The Team - Becky
The Girls- Lauren, Stacy, Me, Becky, Teresa, Missy

Stacy Strong at the start line with one of the Biggest Looser contestants. Runner One must run 21 miles.
Stacy - And we're off
This year will be known as the year of the flag.  We had to use these flags every time we crossed a street, and boy did we use them, hee, hee.
We even did the can-can with it.

Missy Nichols was our second runner and put in 13 miles.
This year will also be known as the year they tried to take away our music.  I even started a facebook page to protest, but they gave back our headphones.  Woohoo!  Look how beautiful this race is.
You literally live out of a vehicle for 2 days.  You get to know your friends really well. Teresa, Missy, Becky.
Becky was runner 3.  She put in 18.4 miles
Being a good cheer leader is a team requirement.  Becky getting her cheer on. :)
Becky getting aid from team mates. Lauren is holding out a neck tie she made that you put ice in. I call it the life saver.
Sometimes when you're done...You feel a little sick.  Becky knows how to push until you puke.
Teresa was runner 4.  She ran 13.1 miles for us, and the girl can cheer.
She's also a strong runner.
She also knows how to drive a large vehicle.
Lauren Halverson was runner 5.  She ran up Avon for us and ran a total of 14.6 miles
Lauren getting ready for her run. This included, texting her parents that were running an Ultra, eating a chocolate doughnut, drinking an AMP, taking No Dose and Leggs.  I told her it would kill a woman my age, but when you're 19....anything goes.
Best of all she can do tricks.  She may be the best cheerleader of all.
I was runner 6 with 18.1 miles, and I enjoyed every second of it....until
My Achilles started acting up.  I spent some time getting it worked on, and all was well.
The girls and I finished our night runs then "slept" on the floor at a school.

We didn't finish as well as we did last year, and I really missed Rick not being there, but it was fun all the same. I'd do it again if someone wants me on their team. :)

Waterfall Canyon
I love a good hike, and this was one of my first for the year.  I took some of my boot camp girls up to Ogden.  There's nothing like being in nature and having a good workout.  I love the outdoors...as long as I don't have to sleep there. ;)

Timpanogos Cave

Me, my sister Jennie and our families had a good time on a hike to the cave this summer.  Jennie lost her cookies at the top....come to find out...she's prego.  So, yeah! I'm going to be an Aunt once again.
She doesn't look like she feels to well does she???
It's a good little hike if you don't hike much.

It really is beautiful.

The Heart of the Cave.

Then we went to the lake.  The kids had a good time. I think this is a beautiful picture of my niece Ky.

My brother-in-law  Troy fishing
Even Corb gave the water a try.

Top of Utah 1/2 Marathon
I spent a lot of time training for the Top of Utah this year, and I did it with some great friends. It's the race I looked forward to all year long.  I ran it last year with my friend Angela as her pacer. I just couldn't wait to do it again with her.

We stayed the night at Rachel's house, and we had a pasta party to get all carb loaded.
L to R Jen, Rachel, Angela and all the yummy pasta.

Me and Lori

Then the next morning it was peanut butter and honey sandwiches and off we went. L to R, Lori, Cammie, Angela, ME!

Off we went to the porta-potties....Where every race starts. :)

It was a sprint to the finish 1:49:58 by my Garmin.

It about killed me.
In the end, I was just proud of myself.  It felt so good.

L to R Lori, Me, Angela  I'm so lucky to have such inspirational, supportive, beautiful friends. Love these girls.

Adams Canyon
I got to hike Adams Canyon many times this year. I love this waterfall.  It's beautiful all year round. This picture is from the first time I hiked it this year with some of my friends.

L to R Melissa, Jaquoy, Me, and Angela.  What a great hike.  I loved every second of it.

This was the last time I hiked Adams this year.  It was the first time Rick could hike all summer and I was so excited for him.  It was such a beautiful day, and it was his first time on this hike.  He loved it....until!
I ended up here....at the emergency room.  Lucky for me it wasn't broken.  But it will take a good long time to heal.....So, here's to next summer...I look forward to it.  Until then, I sit back and enjoy the fall.  Happy adventures to you all.

BEAUTIFUL pictures!!! Looks like it was lotso fun...til that last one. You amaze me, and if I ever have a Ragnar team, I'm totally inviting you to be on my team. Have you ever run the Hood to Coast?
