Track

He's Goin' to District, BABY!
Photobucket Well, the good news is Corbin's going to district, but not for the High Jump. He was ripped off in the High Jump. He did his first jump, and then got called for the 4X4 relay. They took forever to start the race and didn’t hold up the High Jump. After his race, Corbin went back to jump, and they told him he had 3 chances to clear 5’8”. No one else had cleared the height, but they said they couldn’t lower it once it had be raised. Corbin barely nicked it. He could have cleared 5’7” easy, but they wouldn’t let him go back and do it. He was devastated......he’d worked so hard all week on his jumps. Poor kid. He should have gone to district in High Jump too.

On a happier note, Corbin did make district in the 4X1 relay (his team took 1st), and the 4X4 relay (his team took second.) One thing for sure....the boy can really run.

We’re really proud of you Corbin. :)

Rick and Grandma Dorman in the stands watching. Chantel, Kylee and I were there too.

Corbin and his friends. Darren, who is on his 4X1 relay team, Corbin, Ramón, who is on his 4X4 relay team, and Bryan, who is also on his 4X1 team.

GOOD LUCK AT DISTRICT BOYS! WE’LL BE THERE TO CHEER YOU ON.

Friday Flashback

Look at the Family Grow

Today I was ordering pics online, and I started thinking how big Rick’s family is. From 2 people come so many.

Rick is a guy (as I’ve explained in the past,) so when I asked him how long his parents have been married he said, “I don’t know.” But I think it’s been 43 or 44 years.

In 43-44 years, their family has grown from the 2 of them to 30 with one on the way. That’s some serious growth!

The pic below is missing 2 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. It was taken 11/07.

Challis and Melissa

One of the things I'm sure I'll miss someday.
Challis and Melissa have been together for a couple of years, and we really love Melissa around here. Here is one of the many reasons why; she keeps him on track. Every other day Melissa comes to pick up Challis for school. Challis is ALWAYS, ALWAYS LATE! She comes in and moves him along. She ALWAYS has to wait for him to finish “doing” his hair…….can you believe, a girl has to wait for her boyfriend to “do” his hair? Unbelievable!!!!!! But, I listen to them laugh on these mornings while she waits for him, and I’m sure someday I’ll miss their laughter in the morning……but not yet. :)

Isn’t She Sweet?

Take her out and pass her around…

Ok, we just coundn't get enough. I went back to the hospital to see her again and brought the family. When we got there, it was a party in Star’s room. It was jam packed. We had a great time, and were pretty good at sharing even though we were all anxious to hold her.

Star and her girls.

In Chantels words, "She’s absolutely darling!”

Corbin didn't want to give her up to Challis. Corb just loves babies.

Challis said, “You’re right. She’s pretty dang cute.”

Rick Said, "Glad it's Jeff and not me." LOL!

Rett and Jill are Riley's other Uncle and Aunt.
Rett was so cute. He obviously hasn’t held many babies, and he was all stiff. Then he became fascinated with her little feet. It was really cute.

Riley Star Jaques

This is sweet little Riley’s first picture

They really don’t come any more precious than this little girl. What an honor to be present at her birth. It was so special, and I know she will be close to my heart forever. I just instantly loved her. And seriously….what’s not to love? She’s beautiful.

These are pictures of Star before her little bundle of joy arrived. They had to give her oxygen because the baby’s heart slowed a little, but besides that….it was perfect, and Star did a wonderful job.

6 lbs. 13 oz., and 20 inches long.

The four dozen roses Jeff got
Star were beautiful. They arrived just after she gave birth. He's a sweet hubby, and he'll make a wonderful father.

How cute does she make me look? :)

The GRANDPARENTS

She is so kissable! And sooooooo SOFT!

Look at all the love. Congrats Jeff and Star!

Flashback Friday

Winter to Spring

What a difference a few months makes. This snowy picture was taken in January this year, and now look at the change! It just goes to show how in time everything can get better. It’s the message I need today. :)

Just as a side note. Corbin took 1st in the High Jump, 5’3”, yesterday and his 4X1 Relay Team and his 4X4 Relay Team took 1st place also. Whoohooo! Good job Corbie!

Thanks Mr. Egan.
